Why is planting a tree important?
A tree does more than just provide us with oxygen – it is part of our living community, protecting the soil, cooling the air, providing shelter for animals and stopping erosion. In addition, every single tree helps to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air, which is one of the main causes of global warming. A single tree can absorb up to several tonnes of CO2 throughout its lifetime and make a significant contribution to mitigating climate change.
How does the "Plant a Tree" programme work?
We, the ecohaztartas.hu team, will match the amount you donate. This means that when you "buy" a tree with your products, two trees will actually be planted. Planting takes place every year in spring and autumn at one of our company's sites, where we ensure that the trees are grown in the right environment and with the best possible care. This way, we can be sure that the saplings will grow healthily and serve to protect the climate in the long term.
How is this programme different?
This is not just a one-off tree planting campaign. Every year, we carefully monitor the development of the trees planted in the previous season and continuously document their growth. So when you contribute, you are not only doing something for the planet in the current year, but you are also becoming part of a long-term programme.
